Doctors have long recommended that every parent be offered genetic testing before pregnancy, as early awareness allows couples to take preventive actions to conceive a healthy child. But the uptake of these recommendations has been slow, in large part due to the expense and inconvenience of single gene blood testing.
Counsyl is a medical genomics startup founded by Stanford alumni which won the Wall Street Journal Innovation Award in Medicine for addressing exactly this problem.
We've developed a test which reduces the cost of preconception screening for genetic disease by more than 100-fold. Our assay has occasioned international media coverage, is covered by insurance, and is now widely prescribed across the United States by thousands of physicians at hundreds of clinics within a year of launch.
And we're hiring.
Come learn more TODAY in Gates 104 from 5:30-6:30pm.
Free food will be provided -- this is a Stanford grad student operation, after all!
