Abstract: Pixar Animation Studios is a computer animated film studio located in Emeryville, CA. We are always looking for talented employees with backgrounds in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, and Art. This talk will present information about the studio and its movie-making process, with the goal of encouraging Stanford students to consider careers at the company.

Bio: Lisa Forssell is Director of Technical Artists at Pixar Animation Studios, where she oversees the technical directors who work on the technical aspects of film production: modeling, shading, rigging, lighting, simulation, visual effects, and rendering. She started her career at Pixar in 1995, doing lighting for the film Toy Story. She proceeded to write lighting software which was used on the following five feature films. Over the years she has rigged, shaded, and held supervisory roles on the films A Bugs Life, Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, and Cars. She graduated from Stanford in 1994 with a BS and MS in Computer Science.
