Hey Sustainers!

Stanford Dining is putting on a "Healthy Taste of Stanford" event this Wednesday from 11am-1:30pm in Reinquist Courtyard in Munger (outside Russo Cafe). We need volunteers to help make it a zero waste event. We'll be helping people dispose of their waste properly. Volunteers will get a free shirt and get to taste the yummy organic and local samples they have. Here's the spreadsheet for volunteers: Volunteer Spreadsheet

If you can't volunteer, make sure to check out the event - it sounds like it will be really fun!

Thanks, and hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather!

Christina

[FREE-FOOD] "It's not stress that's the problem, it's the lack of recovery"

It often seems like you can't have the Stanford you want without the stress that comes with it.
And you hear about stress left and right: where it comes from, how to lessen it, how to deal with it.

But consider what happens after a stressful day or a stressful week.  Do you give yourself healthy opportunities to...
  • Get Active -        revitalize your body
    • Eat Better -         replenish your supplies
      • Unwind -             recharge your mind

So give yourself the time and space to recover.
Please check out our website for more information about upcoming opportunities.

Come study the Art of Writing in intensive, fun, hands-on workshops with the dynamic faculty of the Creative Writing Program.

You'll leave with an expanded understanding of writing and a sheaf full of pages.

Sessions meet on Mondays from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m. in the Hume Writing Center (Bldg 460, Room 020). Snacks provided!

4/18 Genre Face-off! with Ammi Keller

Which will it be for you: the Best Picture or the Great American Novel?

4/25 The Poetic Sentence with John Evans

How do I know what I think before I hear what I say?

5/2 Melting Clocks: Surrealism with Sara Michas-Martin

Come prepared to write, play, and be blindfolded!

5/9 Nabokov, Kerouac, Woolf, and You with Peter Kline

Good writers borrow. Great writers steal. Tonight we'll be great!

5/16 Get Happy with Keith Ekiss and Shimon Tanaka

Sure we all want it, but how in the world can we write about happiness?
